Who We Are
7 Generations Strong is an Indigenous-led nonprofit rooted in healing, connection and responsibility to one another and the generations yet to come.
Through Indigenous-centered, land-based and community experiences, we create spaces where people can heal, grow, reconnect and strengthen the relationships that sustain us.
Accessibility is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to removing barriers by offering financial support to those who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities, ensuring these spaces remain open and accessible to all who feel called.
Guided By The Seven Generations
The Seven Generations teaching of the Anishinaabe reminds us that what we do today does not end with us. Our choices ripple forward, shaping the lives of those yet to come. It calls us to live, lead and serve with courage, compassion and responsibility beyond ourselves.
This teaching invites us into a deeper way of being. One rooted in relationship, reciprocity and respect for all of life. It asks us to consider not only what we take, but what we give, what we leave behind and how our lives contribute to the well-being of the world.
At 7 Generations Strong, this guiding principle lives at the heart of everything we do. It shapes how we gather, how we care for one another and how we create spaces for healing, connection and growth. We honor those who came before us by tending to what is needed now and helping build a stronger path for those who will follow.
We are not just imagining a better future. We are helping build it today.
Our Grandfather, Chief Wadena (Wahdenah)
Chief Wadena of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is a direct ancestor and a part of the living foundation from which our work grows.
His strength, leadership and responsibility to his people continue to remind us that what we carry is not ours alone. We inherit responsibility from those who came before us and we carry it forward for those yet to come.
This is not just something we speak. This is something we come from.
